FLAGLINE AUDITION INFORMATION

Auditions for the 2017 Flagline will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, GA. Auditions are open to the public for viewing.

Audition Schedule

7:30 - 8:00am Check-in

8:00 - 11:00am Audition

11:00 am – 12:00pm Interview

6:00pm Announcement of 2017 Flagline and mandatory orientation meeting

Application Requirements:

All Candidates must submit the appropriate documents and return as a packet by
Friday April 21, 2017 to:

The audition packet must include:

Attire: All candidates should wear a black leotard with tights, dance shoes, hair pulled away from the face, and performance makeup.

Check-in: Upon arrival, candidates should check-in down on the court.

Equipment: Flags will be provided for the audition process.

Audition Routine: Candidates auditioning for Flagline do not  need to prepare a routine a show. A routine will be taught to all participants during the process.

Judges: The judges will score candidates during both the large group portion of the process in which the routine is being taught and the small group performance portion. Judges are looking for poise, technique, memory, timing, and learning approach.

Weapons: UGA spins both rifle and sabre. However, weapon auditions will not occur until over the summer. Members must first be offered a spot on the team by auditioning on flag only.

Deposit: A new member can expect to pay around $1,000 total for the season’s apparel. Many of these items are one-time purchases. 50% of the members’ total is expected to be paid at the mandatory meeting after being offered a spot on the team. This check should be made out to HHSOM-UGA Bands. The remaining balance is to be paid by June 1st.

Winterguard Auditions: Winterguard auditions are separate from Flagline auditions and are held in September/October of each year.
