Hodgson Wind Ensemble
We are excited for another great year with the Hodgson Wind Ensemble! We continue to innovate our concert experience at the Performing Arts Center and have enjoyed wonderful feedback on our ideas. This year we welcome several guest composers to campus, Catherine Likhuta (all the way from Australia), Joel Love, Sally Lamb McCune, and Xi Wang, for premieres of their works, as well as the esteemed H. Robert Reynolds to guest conduct in March 2018. We undertake two major productions this year--a collaboration with the Hodgson Singers for the North American premiere of Catherine Likhuta's secular oratorio, "Scraps from a Madman's Diary," and John Corigliano's mammoth "Circus Maximus." And, this year's Hugh Hodgson School of Music Concerto Competition winner will perform for over 1000 high school musicians at Janfest.
